After a long and distinguished career, Cremona violin maker Mauro Lucini recently retired and entrusted his precious legacy to the care of his esteemed colleagues, the violin makers at the Officina Mauro Lucini. Despite his retirement, violin maker Mauro Lucini continues to visit the violin makers at the Officina regularly in his beloved workshop to carry on the tradition and ensure the impeccable quality of their creations.

Today, in his historic violin-making workshop, the luthiers at Officina Mauro Lucini create affordable instruments of exceptional sound quality and beauty. Every detail is crafted with the utmost precision to create instruments with authentic expression that reflect the soul and craftsmanship of the violin maker. The creations include both simple violins, which are finished and varnished in his workshop, as well as master violins, which are the result of meticulous craftsmanship and are constantly perfected through our many years of experience to achieve exceptional sound quality.

With decades of experience as artisans, researchers, and observers working daily with fine stringed instruments, Officina Mauro Lucini now devotes all its expertise to a deeply held mission: to create beautiful-sounding, attractive instruments for enthusiastic musicians—and especially for young talents—that provide them with affordable access to the world of Italian stringed instruments. The Officina is supported in this endeavor by two to three apprentices who, under experienced guidance, mature in their craft and carry the legacy of classical Cremonese violin making into the future. Every instrument created within the old brick walls of the Officina Mauro Lucini possesses a unique musical personality, whose character the Officina Mauro Lucini has shaped and refined with dedication and fine craftsmanship.
